| Cruises from Mahe Island Mahe is the largest and most important island of the Seychelles archipelago. While this spectacular island is only 27 km long it is dominated by a mountain range with its tallest peak Morne Seychellois, at 930 m in height, being central to a wonderful national park. There are also some delightful marine national parks off the island. The capital city of Victoria is small enough that it does not take too long to walk around, and this is the best way to see the city and to get a feel of the place and its people, who are often called the ‘friendliest people in the world’. |
| Cruises from Doha Doha, in the State of Qatar, is a multicultural city and home to most of the country's population, as well as expatriate communities from a range of origins. It lies on a small peninsula (80 km by 190 km) in the Persian Gulf, off the Arabian Peninsula and border with Saudi Arabia. Doha is Qatar's largest city and capital, and is the economic centre of the country. Qatar has large oil and gas reserves, and is the richest per capita country in the world. Six out of every seven in the country are migrant workers. Most of the country consists of a low, barren plain, covered with sand. |
| Cruises from Abu Dhabi Abu Dhabi, capital of the UAE, is an island city in the NE of the Persian Gulf. The climate is hot and arid, with sunny skies yearlong. Temperatures pass 40°C in April through September, but are cooler from November to March. Abu Dhabi was originally a pearling community and still maintains its traditional values of hospitality. Due to its economic expansion and liberal social environment, Abu Dhabi is becoming the ‘Cultural hub’ of the Middle East. Visitors can experience the speed of the world’s fastest roller-coaster at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, in the world’s largest indoor theme park. Follow up with time at the majestic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the significant architectural treasures of contemporary UAE society. |
| Cruises from Dubai Dubai, The Pride of the United Arab Emirates, is situated on the southern Arabian Gulf. The subtropical climate sees blue skies, temperatures reaching the mid-40s, and little annual rain. Regarded as a shopper’s paradise, price negotiation is often acceptable, especially in the markets. There are the astonishing artificial archipelagos, the Palm Islands, and the two other artificial archipelagos - The World and The Universe - located between the Palm Islands. Among these islands there are luxury hotels, exclusive residential beach-side villas and apartments, marinas, water theme parks, restaurants, shopping malls, sports facilities and health spas. |
| Cruises from Durban Durban is the third largest city in South Africa and is its busiest port. Its subtropical climate and extensive beaches provide excellent opportunities for sun-worshippers, surfers and swimmers. The Golden Mile, a wide stretch of golden sands, is artificially separated by various piers. A promenade stretches along the Durban waterfront that is home to numerous restaurants, pubs, hotels, shops and the world class uShaka Marine World aquarium is worth exploring. Wilson’s Wharf on the Victoria embankment, and the nearby BAT centre that celebrates the arts and culture of the city, also attract numerous visitors. |
| Cruises from Cape Town Located on the shore of Table Bay, Cape Town was the first European settlement in South Africa, and today is one of the most multicultural cities in the world. Pristine beaches, sheltered bays and secluded coves encircle the majestic might of Table Mountain, a World Heritage Site and home to some 8,500 species of flowers. Be sure to get to the top of the mountain by taking the Table Mountain Cableway and absorb the fascinating views. Robben Island and the District Six Museum are must-visits for anyone interested in South Africa's period of apartheid, which came to an end in 1990. |
