Cruises from Dar es Salaam
Dar es Salaam (‘The Haven of Peace’) - aka Mzizima - is the largest city in Tanzania. It is situated on a massive natural harbour on the Indian Ocean coast of Africa. It is also the country's richest city and a regionally important economic centre. (Before British colonial rule ended in 1961, Tanzania and the offshore islands of Unguja and Pemba were Tanganyika and Zanzibar, as stamp collectors will know.) Dar es Salaam is the largest Swahili-speaking city in the world, and one of Africa’s fastest-growing cities.
Dar’s skyline is dominated by skyscrapers including the 35 floor PSPF Twin Towers.
