• Are gratuities included on Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL)?

• Can I bring alcohol onboard a Norwegian Cruise Ship?

  Guests are not allowed to bring alcoholic drinks onboard except wine and champagne. If used at the restaurant a corkage fee will apply. 

  If you purchase alcohol at one of the ports of call, staff will store it safely and return it to you the night before or the morning of debarkation.

• What Norwegian cruise ships depart Australian Ports?

  During the Australian summer season, Norwegian Cruises brings 2 ships to Australian ports.

  • Norwegian Spirit - Cruises from Sydney.

  • Norwegian Sun - Cruises from Sydney.

• What Programmes and Activities Do Norwegian Cruises Have For Children?

  Norwegian Cruises has 2 youth programs while onboard:

  Splash Academy [ages 3 - 12 years old] - The complimentary programme includes fun interactive activities for the whole family from Game Shows, Sports Challenges, Scavenger Hunts, and Trivia.

  Entourage For Teens [ages 13 - 17 years old] - Teenagers hang out in a place filled with video games, movies, arts, music, sports and people their own age. From the coolest lounge at sea to the hippest dance club at night, there's always something going on at our teen centres.

  Note: The Norwegian Spirit does not have Youth Programmes onboard.

• Does NCL Cruises have Drink Packages?

  NCL has 2 non-alcoholic beverage packages, 2 alcoholic beverage packages and 1 dedicated to the Pride of America cruise ship only. Each beverage package is priced at a cost of per person per day. To book one of these packages contact your clean cruising consultant or log into your NCL account to add the package that suits you. 

  Premium Beverage Package

  • Enjoy a wide selection of beverages under $15 USD, including premium cocktails, spirits, beer, wine by the glass, soft drinks, and juices.

  • Receive 20% off bottles of champagne and wine.

  • Mandatory for all guests 21+ on the same reservation; under-21 guests must purchase the Soft Drink Package.

  Unlimited Open Bar Package

  • Access to an expanded variety of premium beverages, including brands like Grey Goose and Casamigos, with no $15 USD cap.

  • Includes a broader selection of wine and beer, with regional and premium options, plus unlimited soft drinks and juices.

  • Mandatory for all guests 21+ on the same reservation; under-21 guests must purchase the Soft Drink Package.

  Hawaii Beverage Package (Pride of America Only)

  • Enjoy beverages up to $15 USD, with two drinks per person per transaction, throughout your cruise.

  • Applicable for guests 1-8 on the reservation; excludes speciality coffee outside restaurants, mini-bars, or vending machines.

  • Subject to a 20% gratuity and beverage service charge; restrictions and taxes may apply.

  Unlimited Soft Drink Package

  • Unlimited access to fountain soft drinks, including Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Ginger Ale, and Fanta.

  • Available for adults and children aged 3 and up; not applicable for sailings of 2 days or less.

  • Subject to a 20% gratuity and beverage service charge.

  Unlimited Starbucks Package

  • Access to Starbucks beverages, including classic coffees, teas, Frappuccino favourites, and speciality drinks.

  • You must be at least 18 years old at the time of sailing to purchase.

  • Subject to a 20% gratuity and beverage service charge.

• What type of power points are used on Norwegian Cruise Line Ships?

  Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) ships have North American 110-volt AC outlets and European 220/230-volt power points. Australians travelling on an NCL ship should bring a travel adapter for Australian electrical devices.

• Are there any themed nights expected on NCL ships?

  Norwegian Cruise Line offers a variety of themed nights across their fleet of cruise ships. These themed nights vary from ship to ship and itinerary. The most common themed nights on a Norwegian cruise ship are:

  • Glow night

  • White night

  • Latin night

  • 70s, 80s and 90s night

• How Do I Book A Special Occasion on my NCL Cruise?

  When booking a special occasion on NCL, contact your Clean Cruising consultant as they can explore different packages that will suit your special occasion.

• Does NCL Have an App to Download?

  Yes, NCL has a free app that can be accessed before your cruise and without the need for wi-fi while onboard. As of November 2024, NCL released a new app which is downloadable for free at Google Play Store or App Store. Using the app, you can check in and book dining, entertainment and excursions before and during your cruise.

• What type of Wi-Fi or mobile coverage does Norwegian Cruise Line provide?

  NCL have 2 Wi-Fi packages: Voyage Wi-Fi pass and Streaming Voyage Wi-Fi pass. The main difference between these 2 packages is that one is used for streaming video and the other is not. 

  For mobile coverage while on the ship, most cell providers ensure their service is available at sea. Please contact your provider to check which roaming service your mobile service has. 

• What Disability options does Norwegian Cruise Line provide?

  NCL have wheelchair-accessible staterooms with features like roll-in showers, wider doorways, and handrails. Public areas are designed for mobility ease, with accessible restrooms and pool lifts. Guests needing wheelchairs are encouraged to bring their own. Clean Cruising recommends you contact your consultant when booking to arrange the correct stateroom and access required.
