Norwegian Sun Cruises

4.6
(from 5 verified customers)

Launched in 2001, Norwegian Sun was brightened up in 2018 with refreshed staterooms and public spaces. At 78,309 GT and with 1936 passengers this vessel introduced “Freestyle Dining” to the Line. The layout of the ship is easy to navigate, to lounges and clubs, casino, well-stocked library, card room, shopping arcade, large Internet Café, and “hot spots” around the pool.

Entertainment excels with colourful production shows, Broadway-style reviews, and music in the many bars and nightclubs. Daytime entertainment (on sea and in port) provides plenty to do, twice-daily movies, and in-port local television. Two pools and four hot tubs, spa and fitness facilities, sauna, and various courts and drive ranges keep guests fit and healthy. The age range is from young families to seniors; the ship is filled with children during school vacation periods. Read more

A Norwegian Sun cruise adds many pleasing touches through its attentive stewards, careful maintenance, and enjoyable activities for all age groups.

Cabins

Standard inside and outside-view cabins have two beds that can convert to a queen-size bed, and some cabins have two pull-down beds. These cabins are smallish (accommodating two to four), very colourful, with separate shower and toilet, good bedding, small settee, and quite suited to a three-day cruise. Storage and bathroom amenities are more than adequate. Oceanview cabins can accommodate three (family cabins up to five), and have a large rectangular viewing window. Over 250 outside-view cabins have a private balcony and small vanity table.

Each cabin has television, safe, controlled air-conditioning, and computer connection socket. The largest staterooms are the four Owner’s Suites, with living room and dining area, large balcony with reclining chairs and hot tub, bathroom with twin basins, tub and separate shower: indeed it comes with many extras. The Penthouse Suites and Honeymoon/Anniversary Suites are slightly smaller, again with many refinements, and come with a bath/whirlpool tub. Butler service and concierge are available to suites. The larger Penthouses accommodate five persons, the smaller Penthouses three guests. Twenty cabins are configured for guests in wheelchairs, and 42 for hearing-impaired guests.)
