Norwegian Getaway is one of five Breakaway Class vessels, the largest German-built passenger cruise ships. NCL’s signature hull artwork for Getaway was designed by the internationally known, Miami-based modern artist David “LEBO” Le Batard.

The ship incorporates all the best features of modern family cruise vessels, such as: Family and solo cabins, an exclusive Haven Suite complex, an impressive sports complex, fifteen dining venues, and multiple bars, lounges and clubs. All inside public areas are decks 6 to 8, and the top four decks are for outdoor activities and al fresco dining. Dining
Three main dining rooms cater for 1200 guests (of about 4000 on board); the two-storey Manhattan Room with great ocean views and large dance floor; Taste and Savor restaurants; all with different menus. Dining is freestyle, with tables for up to six guests. The 17 dining areas, some of them open 24/7, should spread and lessen crowding at meal times. There’s a buffet top-ship with fast food all day. Specialty dining venues cater to Italian, French Bistro, Japanese (Teppanyaki and Sushi), Steakhouse (regular and Brazilian), Noodles, and a variety of Seafood locations. Choose to dine al fresco overlooking the atrium social centre, or casually on the sports deck.
Bars
Pre-dinner drinks are available at Mixx Bar, between Taste and Savor; or at Prime Meridian Bar between the two steakhouses. You’ll be sure to stop at the Svedka/Inniskillin Ice Bar, with seating for 25, glasses and bar made entirely of ice, while you wear hoods and gloves. Watch society pass by at the atrium coffee café. There is one main show lounge, Getaway Theatre, offering a series of top productions shows.
Activities
Daytime entertainment will mostly centre around the top decks, particularly the sports complex with its ropes course, five giant waterslides, climbing wall and sports courts, bungee, bowling and basketball. Walk The Plank, extending over the ship’s side 35m above the sea, for a special thrill.
Health & Fitness
The two-deck range of Spa and innovative fitness activities, beauty and cosmetic medical treatments, and treatment rooms (including a salt room) are impressive. One of the multiple sun decks is adults-only. Spa and The Haven suites have special access to these facilities.
Kids
Kid’s facilities are greatly expanded. Splash Academy water park caters for four age groups. Teens have their dedicated space with a variety of gaming stations, electronic gadgetry, and late night dance parties. Cabins

Cabins include Inside, Oceanview, Balcony, Suites, and Solo studios, with 26 options. Many have interconnecting rooms and additional beds that cater for 3, 4, 5 and 6 persons. Staterooms have a queen-size bed, separate bathroom with shower, some with bathtubs, a small make-up/writing desk and stool, and wardrobe hanging space. Depending on the category some cabins have a sofa. Oceanview cabins come with a large rectangular picture window for sea views. Balconies are set up with a small table and two chairs. The 59 studio cabins require no singles supplement.

Spa Mini-Suites afford easy access to the fitness centre and complimentary access to the Thermal Spa Suites. Guests of the six classes of The Haven suites and villas – a ship-within-a-ship – have access to their own private courtyard atop the ship, dining venue, butler and concierge services. Families of up to six can be accommodated. The Haven suites are significantly more spacious in all respects, and include a luxurious spa with glass walls and full ocean views. The largest De Luxe Owner’s Suite (1022 sq.ft. sleeping up to four) has a wrap-around balcony, wet bar, and one and a half bathrooms. Fifty-nine studio cabins for singles (with no single supplement) include a full size bed, bathroom, sink and shower, and access to a common Studio Lounge.
