Cruises visiting La Digue & all La Digue cruises for  2019-2020

View La Digue 2019-2020 cruises for 2 ships listing 3 cruises from La Digue with today's best deals!

La Digue is the third largest inhabited island of the Seychelles, lying east of Praslin and west of Felicite Island. La Digue also boasts the friendliest people and most tranquil, serene and relaxing atmosphere in Seychelles. Where cars are shunned in favour of bicycles and ox-carts, the pace of life is necessarily slower. Today, tourism is the island’s mainstay as it offers wide deserted beaches, such as Anse Source d’Argent and Grand Anse, which are perfect for long walks, safe swimming, snorkelling and fishing. Visit the island’s museum to experience the former times when copra and vanilla production were mainstays of the local economy.

In the Veuve Nature Reserve, in the island's interior, is the home of the rare Black Paradise Flycatachers, of which there are only about 100 in existence. The reserve offers tourists a hiking trip with a guide. As the population of about 2,000 people mostly live in the west coast villages of La Passe and La Reunion, a visit to these villages is an ideal way of seeing the local culture.

La Digue also has a wide variety of underwater creatures like fish, sharks and rays. Green sea turtles live on the very edges of the coral reefs and they sometimes venture closer to the island. There are butterfly fish, eagle rays, murray eels and many other species of fish. Also, divers and snorkellers may be lucky enough to see blacktip reef sharks or even whale sharks, which come mainly in the winter but can be seen all year round.
