Alphonse Atoll is one of two islands in the Alphonse Group, in the Outer Islands of the Seychelles Archipelago, Western Indian Ocean. The island has fewer than 100 inhabits, and is actually 400km from Mahé, the main city and island of the Seychelles. This beautiful atoll is nearly 7km across, with a large central lagoon. The Farquhar Atoll is part of the Farquhar Group of islands in the Seychelles that are part of the Outer Islands. Farquhar is notable for its high sand dunes, some of which reach to over ten metres in height. The atoll is located about 770 km from Mahe and is the most southerly part of the Seychelles.
