This region includes sub-Arctic Canada, the Atlantic provinces of Canada, the New England Region of the USA, Bermuda, and the Eastern seaboard of the USA down to Florida. The other major ports on the Atlantic seaboard – including New York and Baltimore – are included in cruises that are linked to other destinations. The British territory of the Bermudas lies about 1000 km E of the US coast.
Ships that sail to New England and Atlantic Canada from USA ports include all the major cruise lines and luxury lines. Sailing trans-Atlantic ex Southampton are Cunard, P&O vessels. Cunard and P&O ships ex Southampton (UK) run lengthy cruises to the Autumnal New England/Canada region annually in September/October. Featured North America East Coast Cruise Ports
| Cruises from Baltimore Baltimore is on of the great eastern coast seaports of USA. Baltimore is the second-largest seaport in the Mid-Atlantic Situated on the shores of Chesapeake Bay and only a few hours away from both beaches and mountains, Baltimore serves as a gateway to a great range of attractions. The city has architecturally important buildings from each period of architecture over two centuries. These include: the World Trade Centre - the tallest pentagonal building in the world, the massive National Aquarium, and the thousands of brick and formstone row houses organised in a grid pattern that has marked Baltimore as very different from other American cities. |
| Cruises from Montreal Montreal is the largest city in Quebec, Canada, and is also the largest inland port in the world. Situated between a majestic mountain and the sparkling St Lawrence River, sailing into the port with its impressive skyline of grand 19th century grey stone buildings never loses its fascination for passengers. Old Montreal is one of the main attractions, where visitors can travel by horse-drawn carriages, stroll along the cobble stone streets, visit museums, art galleries, chic boutiques and vintage coffee shops. It is regarded as one of the most well-preserved ‘Old Towns’ west of Europe, which makes it a truly different North American city. |
| Cruises from Boston Boston is the capital and largest city in Massachusetts, USA. Calling this quaint and delightful city the 'Athens of America' might seem a bit pretentious, but the city's 19th-century glory radiates through its grand architecture, and its world-renowned academic and cultural institutions. Disastrous 'urban renewal' projects in the 1950s provoked such a furious backlash that Boston now has some of the best preserved historic buildings and neighbourhoods in the country. Compact, walkable, historic and clean, the city blends old-world beauty and modern convenience. Take a Cape Cod day trip and enter a world full of sand dunes and salty beaches. |
| Cruises from New York (Manhattan) New York’s port on the Hudson River in Manhattan is four blocks from Central Park. New York is situated on the Atlantic coast of NE United States. With its world-class museums, big statues, even bigger buildings - certainly the Manhattan skyline with its many skyscrapers is universally recognizable - and being the most linguistically diverse city in the world, the Big Apple’s hyperactive rush keeps drawing more and more people to it. The City of New York is a densely packed mass of humanity and all this living on top of one another makes the New Yorker a special kind of person. |
| Cruises from New York (Cape Liberty, NJ) Cape Liberty, New Jersey, is a new port named Bayonne that offers wonderful views of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. With New York being just a ten-minute drive away most cruise passengers head for the world-class museums, big statues, and even bigger buildings of the Big Apple. However, close to port there is the city of Hoboken that is not only the birthplace of Frank Sinatra, but is also great for pedestrians with its shops and restaurants, an easy walk from the train and ferry terminals. Before too long it is to become a flashy terminal with an aquarium and some delightful parks. |
| Cruises from St Lawrence River The St Lawrence River in Canada is of vital geographic and economic importance as it connects the Great Lakes with the Atlantic Ocean, and also forms part of the international boundary between Ontario Province, Canada, and New York State in the USA. Its length from Lake Ontario to mouth is 1200km. It is a very popular cruising destination, as with seven locks in its portion of the Seaway it provides delightful calm-water cruising between fascinating, interesting, safe and secure ports. The routes take you to places rich in history, natural beauty and modern vitality. It is described as untouched, unmatched and unforgettable. |
