This region includes sub-Arctic Canada, the Atlantic provinces of Canada, the New England Region of the USA, Bermuda, and the Eastern seaboard of the USA down to Florida. The New England region (six NE States of the USA) is a centre of early North American settlement, cultural and industrial growth. The major port Boston is a city of higher education. Cruises to the St Lawrence estuary round the Atlantic Provinces (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia with festival city Halifax, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec with its French-Canadian culture). The other major ports on the Atlantic seaboard – including New York and Baltimore – are included in cruises that are linked to other destinations. The British territory of the Bermudas lies about 1000 km E of the US coast.

Ships that sail to New England and Atlantic Canada from USA ports include all the major cruise lines and luxury lines. Sailing trans-Atlantic ex Southampton are Cunard, P&O vessels. Cruise the East Coast on vessels transitioning between New York and the Caribbean. Five ships depart regularly for Bermuda from New York, Boston and Baltimore. Cruises are year-round, with more in the summer.

During the northern Autumn many large ships and smaller luxury ships offer 7- to 14-night scenic cruises between Boston, Baltimore and New York, to Quebec and Montreal. For a longer cruise, four or so large ships traverse the East Coast from Florida to Quebec in October annually. Cunard and P&O ships ex Southampton (UK) run lengthy cruises to the Autumnal New England/Canada region every September/ October. Consider the luxury vessels of Oceania, Silversea, Regent Seven Seas and Seabourn, and some transition from the Baltic via Greenland and Iceland. Around August and September superb adventure cruises with Silver Explorer and Le Soleal sail between Arctic Greenland and the Maritime Provinces of Canada.
