Cruises visiting Coron Island & all Coron Island cruises for  2019-2020

View Coron Island 2019-2020 cruises for 3 ships listing 6 cruises from Coron Island with today's best deals!

Coron Island is one of the Calamian Group of Islands in northern Palawan, the Philippines. It lies 300 km SSW of the capital Manilla. Coron Island rises abruptly from the sea with steep limestone cliffs to 300 m or so, and landing sites are limited to a few beautiful small beaches and coves. The island is wedge-shaped 20 km by 9 km and lies just south of the much larger Busuanga Island, where there’s Coron Port and Town. From there a ferry service takes day visitors 5 km to Coron Bay village on Coron Island. Only about 2600 actually live permanently on the island.

The area is known for its fishing, tourism and SCUBA diving amongst sunken Japanese warships. The coastline is dotted with outrigger boats as this is (on a small scale) a national holiday retreat. The interior has 11 lakes amid the hilly terrain. From Coron Bay a short 200m walk takes you up 45m and inland to Kayangan Lake, where you’ll see fascinating rock formations and enjoy water sports amid impressive scenery. Just south are the Twin Lagoons, with clear green and blue waters, sandy beaches, rocky cliffs, and outrigger fishing vessels.

Visitors to Coron Bay recommend highly the scenery and serenity. There are many local tours, even to the surrounding islets. There are at least 10 wrecks in Coron Bay that are listed in Forbes Traveler Magazine’s top-10 best scuba diving sites in the world. The area is the ancestral domain of the Tagbanwa tribe, one of the oldest in the Philippines, and visitors enjoy acquainting themselves with their cultural displays of village life, art, dance and handicrafts.
