Best known as one of Mexico’s oldest and most well-known beach resorts, Acapulco is located on a deep, semi-circular bay on the Pacific Coast and has been a port since the early colonial period of Mexico’s history. It is considered by many to be one of the most exciting cities in the world, Acapulco is famous for its explosive nightlife, postcard beaches, unlimited water sports, first-class hotels, and gourmet restaurants, alongside the breathtaking beauty of Acapulco Bay. Traditional or historical Acapulco that has remained unchanged through time is certainly one of the main attractions.

Visit the many delightful beaches, go fishing, do some parasailing, and even board a high speed Jet boat - and experience an adventure you'll never forget! Spend a couple hours exploring the Central Market the local people use to sell products to tourists and you are sure to treasure the cultural experience. Visitors also appreciate swimming with the dolphins that many view as a life-changing experience, and if at all possible visit the Historical Museum with its 12 exhibition halls filled with unique relics, including products from Asia.

Visit the San Diego Fort that served as a protection against the attacks of dangerous buccaneers. On the northern end of the bay is where the boardwalk and main square are, and today the area is filled with modern, Mexican-style hotels, with discothèques and restaurants within walking distance. This side of the bay is also known as "Tradicional" or "Nautica." Acapulco is one of Mexico's oldest coastal tourist destinations, reaching prominence in the 1950s as the place where Hollywood stars and millionaires vacationed on the beach in an exotic locale. In modern times tourists line up to watch the famous cliff-divers do their thing.
