Fuerte Amador (Fort Amador, located at the Pacific entrance to the Panama Canal, is part of an artificial peninsula jutting out into the Pacific from Balboa, which connects four small islands to the mainland. On the west side of Fuerte Amador is the Pacific entrance to the Canal, and on the east side is Panama Bay facing Panama City. The surrounding ocean is always filled with vessels patiently awaiting their turn to transverse the Canal, while on the skyline a few kilometres to the north are the skyscrapers of Panama City. Silver Ray will be Silversea's second Nova Class ship, set to debut in summer 2024. The 728-passenger ship will launch in summer 2023, following in the footsteps of sister ship Silver Nova. Silver Ray will include the same eco-friendly features such as environmentally friendly liquefied natural gas (LNG), an all-new "horizontal" design that will be this class' signature, as well as all-balcony cabins with butler service. The hybrid technology, according to Silversea will not only help in port, but will also allow Silver Ray to achieve a percent overall reduction in glasshouse gas emissions per double suite when compared to its previous Muse Class ships.
