Pacific Encounter Cruises

Previously sailing under the name Star Princess, Pacific Encounter will be gracing our shores from May 2021. With a capacity of 2,600 guests and a gross tonnage of 108,865, she will be close to the same size as her sister Pacific Adventure (also due to arrive May 2021). After a substantial dry dock in Singapore, she is scheduled to call the new passenger terminal in Brisbane her new home. Her interior is decorated in modern contemporary style with fresh and crisp finishes while still reminding her passengers that she is unquestionably a member of the P&O family. With quirky furnishings and bold design, Australian’s will feel right at home no matter where they are sailing. Just like her family before her, Pacific Encounter will play host to family-friendly entertainment and activities while showing off her quirky personality and true Australian spirit. Families will have fun with the dedicated indoor/outdoor family area with a pool and the usual parties and games throughout the cruise. Guests will enjoy the P&O favourites including Angelo’s, Dragon Lady and chef concepts by celebrity chefs Luke Mangan and Johnny di Francesco. One of the new features aboard Pacific Encounter, exclusive to the newer P&O ships, is the Byron Beach Club. This club gives suite guests exclusive access to the top deck amenities. These include a private pool, spas, signature bar, unparalleled views, and not to mention bragging rights. Guests can sit back, relax and be waited on in style and comfort.

Pacific Encounter's inaugural season will be from Brisbane's new International Cruise Terminal. P&O have taken what has worked for their previous ships and perfected the details. Bringing back the sought after activities such as the Edge Adventure Park, waterpark, laser tag, Oasis adults-only retreat, Blue Room and Cellar Door Wine Tasting. The children's favourite kids clubs are back, feeling brand new plus exciting new activities to be added.

Enjoy your favourite Aussie cuisines at the famous Waterfront Restaurant or experience otherworldly flavours at the popular Angelo’s Italian restaurant or Dragon Lady Pan-Asian restaurant. The Encounter Hotel is a new concept hotel, exclusively coming to Pacific Encounter with more details to be released. For suite guests, the brand new Byron Beach Club provides a private retreat offering several exclusive amenities.

  • Dining

    Dining on the Pacific Encounter

Pacific Encounter will have 18 different dining options, 12 of which is included in your fare. True to the P&O experience, guests can be as safe or as adventurous as they choose. Whether the sound of garlic snails makes your mouth water or a traditional Guinness pie is more your speed, the incredible chefs onboard have something to tantalise. The Waterfront restaurant is open for breakfast lunch and dinner, offering a rotating menu of Aussie favourites.

This restaurant is open dining, no reservation is required. Other restaurants included in your fare are Angelo's Italian Restaurant and Dragon Lady, these are open for dinner only and do require to book ahead. The pantry began replacing the standard buffet in 2015 and is now equipped across the P&O fleet. In its place, we have a food court style experience where guests can get curry at one stand and stir fry in another served to you by the crew. This change has resulted in more responsible travel as well as a more efficient dining experience. For those special occasions, you don't want to miss the incredible food at one of the many specialty restaurants. P&O favourite and Celebrity chef Luke Mangnan will be bringing his delicacies onboard, as well as the famous 400 Gradi Pizza by Johnny Di Francesco. For a culinary experience like no other, the Chef's table will be available. This will have limited numbers on each cruise so be sure to book ahead. If you’re looking for something different, you cannot miss Shell and Bones. Seafood and steak specialty dining restaurant that is open for dinner, carving out a private dining room in the pantry. Room service is available for a minimal fee.
