There are numerous lounges and bars: The Purple Jazz Bar, decorated with beautiful lighting and purple shades, serves beer, wine, spirits and snacks; and the Sports bar, a wine bar, Piano Bar, Cygar Room and an aperitif bar. Sample the delights of La Piazzetta, with its bar ice-cream parlour, pastry and chocolate shop. Sit and watch fellow passengers pass by at L’Espresso Coffee Bar with its coffees, teas and chocolates. Dance late at Club 33 Disco.

The Strand Theatre is a state-of-the-art 1600 seat venue and its twice-nightly productions have received high acclaim. Some productions may be short, just 30 minutes.

Catch a movie in the 4D Cinema or have fun at the Royal Palm Casino. Deck tennis, basketball, water slides, hot tubs, daytime aerobics, squash and shuffleboard will keep you active. For those who prefer to sit, the ship has interactive Formula 1 race simulators.

For fitness and health, the MSC Aurea Spa is equipped with treadmills, Nordic machines and individual aerobic machines. The spa area has three Thalassotherapy cabins and 15 massage rooms, with a Balinese treatment facility. Spas are operated by Blue Ocean, and treatments include acupuncture.

For the youngsters there’s the Graffiti Disco Teen and the video games room Virtual World. Children are well provided for, from three years to late teens. A “baby-parking” service is helpful when parents want to go on shore excursions.
