Seven Seas Mariner leaves Australia on her World Cruise in March 2020, heading for the Middle East, Mediterranean and Caribbean. Look ahead to 29 October 2020 when there’s another 68-night circumnavigation of South America, departing from Los Angeles, disembarking at Miami. Ten of those nights will be spent on the Amazon River, as far as 1500 km inland from the Atlantic. Anticipate February of 2021 and 2022 when Mariner again passes through Sydney on major cruises. The 2022 cruise circles the Pacific from home port of San Francisco over 120 nights. It includes 59 ports in 17 countries; 43 UNESCO World Heritage Sites; and 300 shore excursions. All cruises are indeed port-intensive, and focus on free top-range shore excursions. Mariner is an all-suite, all-balcony ship. Passengers spend more time in these 5-star plus suites than on most other ships afloat.

Entering service in 2001 at 48,015 GT, Mariner carries up to 708 passengers. Refurbished in April 2018, the vessel is still in impeccable condition. The style of the ship is classic and sophisticated. This vessel boasts the highest staff-to-guest ratio in the industry. Full room service offers all dining options. All dining, beverages and gratuities are included in the fare. The wide choices of public rooms, lounges and clubs allow for an un-crowded feel. The atrium is the social centre of the ship with a cozily furnished Coffee Connections. Entertainment includes Broadway-style productions, headline artists, the ship’s orchestra, and remarkably informative destination-specific lectures directed to intelligent passengers. Typical passengers appear to be 40+, affluent, and quite well travelled. Check dress code requirements before sailing. Complimentary self-service launderettes are available.

Accommodation
All 354 staterooms have an outside floor-to-ceiling view opening to a private balcony. Every stateroom is a suite, and the smallest at 301 ft2 (including balcony) is quite large. All staterooms have as a minimum a walk-in closet, individual temperature control, telephone, writing desk, table for in-suite meals, queen-size bed (or twin beds), generous lounge area, wooden cabinetry, mini-bar/refrigerator, TV/DVD, personal safe, all presented amidst luxurious decor. Marble-clad bathrooms have a combination bathtub/shower, hair dryer, and cotton bathrobe and towels. Balconies (49 ft2) have two recliner chairs and small table.

There are five larger grades of suites, each with progressively larger interior and balcony areas, in some cases a separate shower, and butler service. Horizon Suites (627 ft2) and Seven Seas Suites (847 ft2) overlook the ship's stern and have large balconies. The latter has an extended dining area for entertaining. Mariner Suites (739 ft2) have a guest toilet and Grand Suites (987 ft2) have a full second bathroom, coffee machines, and much enlarged lounge-dining areas. Master Suites (2002 ft2) have forward and side balconies, two bedrooms with bathroom ensuites, and are ideal for entertaining. Six suites are wheelchair-accessible and located near elevators. A complimentary room service menu is available 24 hours a day, and the chef's nightly menu is served in-suite during regular dining hours. In-suite dining is quite popular.

Food and Dining
The Compass Rose Dining Room has large ocean-view windows and open-seating dining - choose when and with whom to dine - for all meals. Complimentary wines are served during dinner. Signatures (by reservation) offers authentic French cuisine under the auspices of Le Cordon Bleu of Paris. By way of contrast, Prime 7 (also by reservation) is a contemporary American steakhouse that serves multiple courses, also including other meats and seafood. For an entertaining meal dine at Latitudes, with its show kitchen. La Veranda is a large venue for breakfast, al fresco lunch buffets, and dinner, set in more casual surroundings.

Every afternoon High Tea is served with scones and other delicacies in the Horizon Lounge. Complimentary coffees and soft drinks are available throughout the ship at all times. All beverages and gratuities are included in the fare. For fast-food items there is an outdoor grill alongside the pool.

Entertainment
The Constellation Theatre is a two-decked showlounge that features production shows, concert music, headline entertainers, and cabaret acts. Soloists and musical groups provide live entertainment in several lounges and bars. Dancing is popular and a gentleman host is aboard each cruise. Horizon Lounge is the most popular venue, with an active bar, dance floor and piano. For those who choose there is an elegant casino.

Enrichment programs include noted guest presenters who lead lectures, classes and workshops. The Internet Cafe helps you maintain contact with the outside world, and is complemented by instructive computer classes. Wireless access throughout the ship is available for a nominal fee. Sporting amenities include a large heated pool, two whirlpools, table tennis, golf driving, Canyon Ranch exercise classes, and gymnasium. Spa-beauty services are world class. On select voyages children (in three age brackets from 5 to 17 years) are immersed in exciting activities by experienced staff.
