Natasha Osman served me so well, so tirelessly, so sympathetically, that I would be embarrassed to even think of using a different company in future. I just hope that Natasha is still there in future when I call to book. She is 100% first rate in all aspects like friendliness, sincerity, organisational ability, clear communication, helpfulness..."

Life aboard Carnival Glory
Carnival Glory sails out of New Orleans, the USA mainland’s second most popular tourist city. (So, do spend a few days there before or after your voyage.) Departing from the heart of New Orleans astride the Mississippi River, 170 km upriver from the Gulf of Mexico, Carnival Glory embarks on 7-night cruises to the western and eastern Caribbean. Eastern cruises visit Key West (USA) and the Bahamas (Freeport and Nassau). There are two western itineraries. One calls at the Yucatan Peninsula ports of Roatan (Honduras), Belize City and Cozumel (Mexico). The other calls at Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, and Cozumel. All cruises have three sea days. (Note that Carnival Valor also sails from New Orleans, with 4- and 5-night cruises to the Yucatan Peninsula.)

Carnival Glory is one of five 110,239 GT, 2974-passenger Conquest Class cruise ships. Her maiden voyage was in 2003, and her last refit was in 2017. Some features of the vessel include four pools, seven whirlpools, and a 65m water slide. Other amenities include multiple bars, nightclub, casino, full internet connectivity, and large outdoor LED screen overlooking the main pool area. Carnival Glory's biggest strength is its appeal to a wide variety of travellers, from families and groups to couples. The ship receives good customer ratings for its entertainment, spa and fitness facility, and provisions for various children age-group activities. The ship gives a feeling of spaciousness, with its “city at sea” atmosphere.

Accommodation
The cabin categories include interior staterooms, ocean view (portholes, picture window, and forward-looking floor-to-ceiling window), balcony (four grades, up to an aft wrap-around balcony), and suites (three grades). Eighty percent of the cabins are outside; 80 percent of those staterooms have private balconies. Each cabin has a gift amenity basket in its bathroom. All staterooms include flat-screen TVs, safe, mini-bar, beach towels, hair dryer, bathrobes to wear during your cruise, and Carnival Comfort Bed with plush mattresses, good quality duvets, linens and pillows. Standard cabins are a good size. Most with twin beds can be converted to king-size bed. Good design and soft lighting add to a feeling of spaciousness in interior staterooms.

The Junior, Grand, and Ocean Suites have a large lounge and sleeping area, large bathroom with twin wash basins, and whirlpool bathtub. The best suites and cabins are those on the aft-facing decks. Suites qualify for priority check-in at port. Some cabins can accommodate a third and fourth person, and most cabin categories are fitted with inter-connecting doors to suit families. There are no single cabins, and 25 wheelchair-accessible cabins. A room service menu is available 24-hours, for a small charge.

Food and Dining
There are two principal dining rooms - Golden and Platinum - with a choice of fixed-time dining at two seatings, or flexible "Your Time Dining". Dining assignments can be booked before the cruise. Menus change daily and service is excellent. Breakfast and lunch are open seating. Late morning Brunch is served along with a comedy presentation. Kids have their own menu. The Lido Restaurant buffet is the expansive two-level poolside eatery, offering casual alternatives for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also on the pool deck is a pizza station, deli, Asian food, and a great seafood café.

The Nouveau Restaurant (dinner, cover charge) specialising in steaks and seafood is a superb fine-dining experience not to be missed. The Chef’s Table, reserved for 12, is a special dining experience that includes a galley tour. On the promenade deck Creams Café serves specialty coffees and sweets (there's a charge). At night, the Bonsai Sushi bar opens. There are numerous coffee, iced tea and lemonade stations as well as self-serve ice cream and frozen yoghurt machines. The ship offers 24-hour room service, ranging from basic continental-style breakfast fare to a variety of sandwiches and desserts.

Entertainment
There is something for everyone. The Amber Palace Show Lounge spanning three decks presents large production shows and cabaret acts backed by a live show band. It has a revolving stage, hydraulic orchestra pit, and excellent sound. Seaside Theatre’s giant screen over the main pool shows sports events, music videos and films. Night is the time for late buffet snacks, R-rated comedy and White Heat Dance Club dancing. There’s the Cinn-A-Bar piano bar, and Bar Blue for afternoon tea and before dinner drinks. These are just a few of the 22 bars and lounges splashed with kaleidoscopic colours.

Daytime activities include the customary art auctions, karaoke, "game show mania," ballroom dancing, comedians, and bingo. Adults have the large action-packed Camel Club Casino and their adults-only Serenity Retreat. Take an aerobics class, work out in the gym, refresh with a beauty treatment and massage. There’s a mini-golf course, jogging track, and deck games. Teens enjoy their own parties and movies at Club O2, junior teens at Circle “C”, and pre-teens at Camp Carnival. Entertainment extends to the humungous WaterWorks slides and pools. Keep linked to the outside world at the Internet Café.
