Life aboard Carnival Conquest
Until April 2019 Carnival Conquest sails from Fort Lauderdale to the Caribbean and Central America. Itineraries are of 5 to 8 nights. In the Western Caribbean call at Key West, Cozumel (Mexico) and the Cayman Islands. In the Eastern Caribbean are the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos Islands, Puerto Rico, St Maarten, and Guadeloupe. Towards the Southern Caribbean are the Dominican Republic, and Aruba and Curaçao in the Netherlands Antilles (just off the coast of Venezuela). Expect two or three sea days. One-day on-shore stopovers allow for duty-free shopping, strolling on the magnificent beaches, snorkelling around the reefs, perhaps even feeding giant rays. From May 2019 Carnival Conquest will offer a 7-night itinerary to the Eastern Caribbean ports of Cockburn Town (Turks and Caicos), San Juan (Puerto Rico), Charlottte Amalie (US Virgin Islands) and Amber Cove (Dominican Republic).

Carnival Conquest is one of five 110,239 GT, 2974-passenger Conquest Class cruise ships. She was renovated in 2012, with interior décor reflecting her New Orleans port background. Renovation included a new Circle “C” club (for 12- to 14-year-olds) and large outdoor LED screen overlooking the main pool area. Carnival Conquest receives best ratings for its entertainment, spa and fitness facility, and provisions for families. The ship gives a feeling of spaciousness, with its “city at sea” atmosphere, lots of playful passengers across all age groups, and excellent entertainment. Adults and children celebrate playtime.

Accommodation
The cabin categories include interior staterooms (9 grades), ocean view (portholes, picture window, and forward-looking floor-to-ceiling window; 7 grades), balcony (10 grades, up to an aft wrap-around balcony), and suites (four grades). Eighty percent of the cabins are outside; 80 percent of those staterooms have private balconies. Each cabin has a gift amenity basket in its bathroom. All staterooms include flat-screen TVs, safe, mini-bar, beach towels, hair dryer, bathrobes to wear during your cruise, and Carnival Comfort Bed with plush mattresses, good quality duvets, linens and pillows. Standard cabins are a good size. Most with twin beds can be converted to king-size bed. Good design and soft lighting add to a feeling of spaciousness in interior staterooms.

The Junior, Grand, and Ocean Suites have a large lounge and sleeping area, large bathroom with twin wash basins, and whirlpool bathtub. The best suites and cabins are those on the aft-facing decks. Suites qualify for priority check-in at port. The two Captain’s Suites are high on deck 10 overlooking the bow. Some cabins can accommodate a third and fourth person, and most cabin categories are fitted with inter-connecting doors to suit families. There are no single cabins, and 25 wheelchair-accessible cabins. A room service menu is available 24-hours, for a small charge.

Food and Dining
There are two principal dining rooms – Renoir and Monet – with a choice of fixed-time dining at two seatings, or flexible “Your Time Dining”. Dining assignments can be booked before the cruise. Dress up for the occasional formal. Menus change daily and service is excellent. Breakfast and lunch are open seating. Late morning Brunch is served along with a comedy presentation. Kids have their own menu. The lido buffet Restaurant Cezanne – 19th century French café décor – is the expansive two-level poolside eatery, offering casual alternatives for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also on the pool deck are snacks all day, including a pizza station, deli, and fast food. Come evening, there are five dining options (some pay extra).

There are two alternative restaurants (by reservation, with cover charge): Nouveau Restaurant for dinner, and Bonsai Sushi for lunch and dinner. Both offer superb fine-dining experiences not to be missed. The Chef’s Table, reserved for 12, is a special dining experience that includes a galley tour. On the promenade deck Café Patisserie serves specialty coffees and sweets (there's a charge). At night, a complimentary Japanese sushi bar opens. There are numerous coffee, iced tea and lemonade stations as well as self-serve ice cream and frozen yoghurt machines. The ship offers 24-hour room service, ranging from basic continental-style breakfast fare to a variety of sandwiches and desserts.

Entertainment
There is something for everyone. The Toulouse-Lautrec Showlounge spanning three decks presents large production shows and cabaret acts backed by a live show band. It has a revolving stage, hydraulic orchestra pit, and excellent sound. Seaside Theatre’s giant screen over the main pool shows sports events, music videos and films. Night is the time for late buffet snacks, R-rated comedy and Henri’s Dance Club disco. There are 22 bars and lounges with décor from the great Impressionist painters. There’s the classical pianist in the lobby's Artists’ Bar, and Alfred’s Bar for afternoon tea and before dinner for jazz and classical. EA Sports Bar carries a Tahitian setting. Henri's takes its theme from the exotic jungle paintings of Henri Rousseau.

Daytime activities include the customary art auctions, karaoke, "game show mania," ballroom dancing, comedians, and bingo. Adults have the large action-packed Casino. Take an aerobics class, work out in the gym, refresh with a beauty treatment and massage. There’s a mini-golf course, jogging track, and deck games. Teens enjoy their own parties and movies at Club O2, junior teens at Circle “C”, and pre-teens at Camp Carnival. Entertainment extends to the humungous WaterWorks slides and pools. Keep linked to the outside world at the Internet Café.
