Cruises visiting Acajutla & all Acajutla cruises for  2019-2020

View Acajutla 2019-2020 cruises for 5 ships listing 17 cruises from Acajutla with today's best deals!

Acajutla is the main seaport on the Pacific coast of El Salvador, in Central America. Visitors are greeted with a warm reception and a great traditional cuisine. It’s a small town with incredible landscapes and fantastic sea and surf, such as Los Cabanos beach in the Port of Acajutla. It’s a fun place that even has its own market for everything you need. Other attractions include deep sea and reef fishing, and canopy tours of the forests of Apaneca. The El Rosario church with its amazing windows is renowned. Acajutla also gives access to archaeological sites, such as Chalchuapa, home to the Mayan ruins of Tazumal.

The site was constructed over a period of 750 years but the city was abandoned at the end of the 9th century and the Pipils moved in, constructing their own pyramid. Apart from its natural beauty, there’s also the World Heritage Site of the Jewel (Joya) of the Ceren Archaeological Site of a pre-Columbian Mayan farming village - that was buried under a volcanic eruption around 600 A.D. Preserved remarkably intact, it provides an insight into Latin American civilisation. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful. Lake Coatepeque is a small lake of outstanding natural beauty.

Taste the local cuisine at the Los Pinos Cooperativa's restaurant on the top of the crater. Perhaps take a boat ride. Montecristo Cloud Forest displays a great diversity of flora, including ferns, orchids and mosses, and wildlife like spider monkeys and anteaters. See the volcano in the National Park of El Boqueron: it involves a drive and an easy hike. The variety of flowers and the amazing views make for a very pleasant visit. It is an oasis for relaxation, fine dining and breathtaking scenery. All the history is contained there in an advanced culture, pure energy to recharge your batteries.
