Cruises from Verkoturov Island
The very small Verkhoturov Island, 3.5 km long and 0.5 km wide, lies off the E side of Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia. Its hilly interior rises to 350 metres, and from most vantage points on the island you’ll see a stark grey, old stone lighthouse tower rising 12 metres, evidence of previous activities; but at present the island is uninhabited. On parts of its coast line are cliffs that provide nests for multitudinous sea birds. Along the water line you may see herds of walruses and sea lions.
