Lamassa Island (also known as Coconut Island) is a small island located one kilometre off the SW coast of New Ireland, the largest island of the New Ireland Province in Papua New Guinea. It faces the St George Channel between New Britain and New Ireland. It truly is a remote location of primitive and fascinating tribal cultures and unique flora and fauna.

Expect to be enchanted by the friendly welcome of the locals, then be sure to take the opportunity to swim, snorkel or scuba dive off its white sandy and intriguing jungle clad beach. The lush tropical vegetation is home to bright green skinks and beautiful Barringtonia flowers, as well as a great variety of tropical vegetation, which can be truly appreciated by taking an informative trek.

Take the time to interact with the locals. One cannot help but be deeply impressed by the rich culture, amazing diving, ancient tropical fjords and pristine beaches on this amazing island.
