Cruises from Tuamotu Atolls
Tuamotu Archipelago (aka Tuamotus) is a chain of 78 coral atolls in French Polynesia that stretches 1500 km across the geometric centre of the Pacific Ocean. (Some may recall that French nuclear tests were held on Mururoa from 1966 to 1996, and this is one of the atolls to the south-east of the chain.) The main industries of the 16,000 inhabitants are black-pearl cultivation, and preparation of copra.
