We have already recommended Clean Cruising to one of our friends who used your services. We are unlikely to go on another Sea Cruise ......... maybe river cruise but not sea cruise. We would definitely use the services of Clean Cruising if we ever decide to go on another cruise."

Cruises visiting San Blas Islands & all San Blas Islands cruises for  2019

The Panamanian San Blas Islands archipelago of 378 islands and cays (only 49 inhabited) lie 130 km to the NE of the Panama Canal entrance at Colon. This southernmost part of the Caribbean Sea is free of cyclones and popular with eco-tourists, due to the pristine environs and undeveloped tourist industry. The islands’ past history includes the period of the Spanish invasion, notable visits by explorer William Dampier (c. 1679), and pirates’ rendezvous. Today visit for the white sand, waving palms, turquoise water, and local rule by the Kunas with minimal governance.

The San Blas Indian reservation includes not only the San Blas Islands, but also a strip of Caribbean coastline from the Colon Province. The Kuna Indians have governed this autonomous province since the 1920s. They maintain their own economic system, language, customs and culture with their music, dance and legends. There is a distinct feeling of being in another world. The arts and crafts of the Kunas are famous. The bright tropical scenery and wildlife is reflected in the colourful molas, a rainbow of reverse appliqué embroidery in geometric designs made by the Kuna women that have become popular souvenirs for visitors.

The men still fish from canoes and climb for coconuts as they have done for centuries. Stunning golden sands and blue-green waters are edged by the coconut palms. They are the idyllic islands of your dreams. These islands do not belong to a single person. In many cases they belong to a whole family or to a community. They are one of the few vacation spots that an anthropologist and beach-goers can both agree on. Visitors snorkel the nearby reefs, paddling languidly through an underwater garden that seems to specialize in staghorn corals, forbidding black sea urchins and the slightly friendlier starfish.
