Cruises from Puerto Morelos

Puerto Morelos (named after a hero in Mexico’s war for independence from Spain) is a town and deepwater seaport on the Yucatán Peninsula, facing east to the Caribbean Sea, about 36 km south of the resort city of Cancún and about 30 km north of the city of Playa del Carmen. It is one of the easternmost ports of Mexico. In past years chicle (resin to make chewing gum) from inland forests was shipped from here. Now Puerto Morelos is both a tourism hotspot and a major centre of commerce.
