Cruises from Punta Ala
Punta Ala is a seaside resort in Tuscany, Italy, about 120 km north of Civitavecchia, the port for Rome. (It is also 55 km north of the site of the Costa Concordia sinking.) The port has a 600-berth marina that caters for many racing yachts, and is primarily an elite year-round holiday resort. It is famous for its sailing regattas that are held by the local "Punta Ala Yacht Club". Punta Ala is the “Newport, Rhode Island of Italy.” Punta Ala’s historic pirate defences of the 16th century are stand-out sights: The Castle, to the south of the marina; the Hidalgo Tower; and the Appiani Tower on nearby Sparviero Isle.
