Banta Island is the eastern most island in West Nusa Tenggara, a province that lies just east of Bali in Indonesia. Banta is of irregular shape, that would fit inside a square 8km on the side. Its highest point is barely 360m. The main islands of the province are Lombok and Sumbawa. Pulau Banta is just 11 km across a strait from Pulau Komodo, home to the famed Komodo monitors.

The main feature of this unspoiled and barely inhabited island are the two dozen crescent beaches: no villages, roads or services. Great for a beach BBQ.
