Dobo is the main port and capital of the Aru Islands, a group of about 95 low-lying islands in the Maluku province of eastern Indonesia. It is situated on Wamar Island, just off the largest island Tanahbesar and about 700 kms north of Darwin. Located west from Dobo is Batu Kora beach, a white sandy beach overgrown with coconut trees, a recreation spot for the local people. Pearl farming is a major source of income for the island.
