Cruises visiting Pula & all Pula cruises for  2020-2021

View Pula 2020-2021 cruises for 2 ships listing 7 cruises from Pula with today's best deals!

Pula is situated at the southern tip of the Istrian peninsula, on the eastern shores of the Adriatic Sea. It is the area's largest city. Located below seven hills and with views of the Adriatic, Pula's unspoiled natural surroundings are magical. It is also home to many ancient Roman buildings, including the well-preserved magnificent amphitheatre with a museum in the basement that towers over the nearby buildings. Amazingly, it has been saved from destruction several times despite various plans to take the edifice to Venice, stone by stone, as a demonstration of the might of the Venetian empire.

Known for its mild climate and calm beautiful sea, Pula also has long traditions of winemaking, fishing and shipbuilding. The temple of Agustus with its Roman atmosphere and the beautiful little church of St Francis with its ornate icons are both popular destinations. Don’t miss seeing the Triumphal Arch of Sergius located right in the middle of the pedestrian area, for its extraordinary architectural detail. Walk around the top of the Kastel castle wall to appreciate the great views, and visit the Town Hall (City Palace) that has been reconstructed in the Baroque style.

Tito's Park is popular with tourists because of its location near the sea, and the monument there in memory of the heroes who died during WWII. Historical attractions aside, Pula is a busy commercial city on the sea that has managed to retain a friendly small-town appeal. Just a short bus ride away, a series of beaches await at the resorts that occupy the Verudela Peninsula to the south. Here the coast is dotted with fragrant pine groves, seaside cafes and a clutch of good restaurants. Further south along the indented shoreline, the Premantura Peninsula hides a spectacular nature park, the protected cape of Kamenjak.
