Bol is a town on Brac Island in the Adriatic Sea, within Croatia. It is the largest island on the Dalmatian coast, separated from the mainland by the Brac Channel. Above Bol is rising the coronet of Bols hills, the illlyrian fortress Kostilo (660 m) and the Vidova Gora (778 m), the highest top of the Adriatic islands, offering fantastic views to the Adriatic. This little town has kept its Mediterranean spirit. The narrow, stony little roads and the wide piazzetas are simple and typically mediteranneous noisy. The town is filled with religious history. Places to visit include: the pre-Romanic church of St. Ivan and St. Tudor; the fortified gothic summer palace with gallery of contemporary Croatian art; and the local church Madonna of Karmel

Nearby Broc are sandy beaches, including Zlatni Rat (Spit), the most beautiful beach on the Adriatic Sea. Often referred to as the Golden Cape or Golden Horn, it is a symbol of Croatian tourism. a spit of land about 2 km west from the harbour. The shape and length of the spit varies with changes in tide, current, and wind. The pine tree grove bordering the beach is home to the remnants of a Roman villa rustica, which included a swimming pool. The westernmost edge of the beach, and several coves to the west of the main beach, are traditionally clothing-optional.

Wine lovers must surely visit Stina, in the town, for the chasrm of the building and variety of wines. Out of town visit the historic site built into the hills, Pustinja Blaca (Blaca Monastery), the site of an old hermitage (with a 30-minute walk). The economy of Brac is based mostly on tourism, but fishing and agriculture (wine and olives) are very important, as is its precious white stone.
