Cruises visiting Milos & all Milos cruises for  2019-2020

View Milos 2019-2020 cruises for 4 ships listing 7 cruises from Milos with today's best deals!

Milos Island lies in the Aegean Sea mid-way between Athens and Crete. It is also known as the Island of Colours because of its colourful beaches, rocks and waters, due to the island's volcanic origins. It is also where the centre-piece of the Louvre in Paris, Aphrodite of Milos (Venus de Milo), was found. The port of Adamas presents a true picture of Grecian island life, with a busy waterfront lined with cafés and restaurants serving authentic Greek dishes. Visit the village of Klima, famous for its famous boat houses right on the sea, with their brightly painted doors and the living quarters on the upper floors.

The town of Plaka, the capital, is just 5 km away on a hill overlooking the sea. Its typically Greek white-washed houses, a Frankish castle on the ancient acropolis, a folk art museum and an archaeological museum, and a well preserved theatre, are all well worth visiting. The best way to see and even visit the delightful beaches and the dramatic coast is by excursion boat. It makes a long day seem short. Before leaving be sure to sign the petition at Plakiaki Gonia for the return of Venus de Milo to its rightful home. The island will surely steal your heart.

If you love the sea, wish to escape your everyday routine, and value being immersed in natural surrounds, then a catamaran sailing boat adventure is just what you need. The vessel will take you to beautiful, pristine and isolated beaches, far from the hassle of tourist crowds. Then there’s the Milos Mining Museum, a fabulous little museum, beautifully designed, very interesting with well-displayed artefacts. It allows for good disabled access, and has a nice little shop with a good range of cards, books and minerals.
