Cruises visiting Rosyth & all Rosyth cruises for  2019-2020

View Rosyth 2019-2020 cruises for 4 ships listing 13 cruises from Rosyth with today's best deals!

Rosyth is a town located on north of the Firth of Forth on Scotland's east coast just 19km NW of Edinburgh. In the early 1900s Rosyth was the location of a large Royal Naval dockyard due primarily to the existence of a natural deep channel which made it ideal as a base for warships. As the town was being planned from scratch, it was laid out as a 'garden city' to house the workers at the dockyard and naval base. Rosyth is the newest of Edinburgh's cruise ports. The port of Rosyth is in the wonderful county of Fife with its picturesque fishing villages tucked along the coast.

Many historic attractions are within an hour's drive of Rosyth such as Stirling Castle, Gleneagles and Linlithgow Palace, together with the scenic areas of Perthshire and the Trossachs. Dunferminline, Scotland's ancient capital, is just 1.6km north of Rosyth. Edinburgh’s proximity means that within a distance of no more that 22km numerous famous Edinburgh tourist attractions abound. Most visited of these would probably include: the Forth Railway Bridge, Edinburgh Castle, the National Gallery of Scotland Complex, the Royal Museum, the National Monument that is a memorial to those who died in the Napoleonic Wars, and the Tenements of Old Town Edinburgh, to name but a few.

Then there’s Arthur’s Seat, built in the late fourteenth century that offers spectacular views across the city, Hollywood Palace, and Craigmillar Castle. Many tourists travel to Falkirk to see the world’s first rotating boat lift that connects two canals with a difference of 24m between their water levels.
