Cruises from Porquerolles
One of the islands off the French coast known as the Golden Isles because of the way sunlight shimmers on its mica rock, Porquerolles, with a population still in the hundreds, provides a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Small coves separated by rugged cliffs offer excellent swimming. Porquerolles is beloved by filmmakers who use it as a South Sea island stand-in. With its lighthouse constructed in 1837 and the church in 1850, today the island is now part of a car-free National Park and nature conservatory that many visitors explore.
