Paris, situated on the river Seine in northern France, is the capital and largest city of France. With its history going back two millennia, and its current influence on entertainment, media, fashion and the arts, it deserves its status as the most popular tourist destination in the world! After all who could miss discovering some excellent shopping while strolling along the 17th century Champs-Élysées, from Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe.

Undoubtedly the best known monument in Paris is the iconic Eiffel Tower, while the city’s cathedrals such as Notre Dame de Paris and the Basilique du Sacre-Coeur are visited by up to twelve million tourists annually. Interestingly, Disneyland Paris these days is one of Paris’ most visited major attractions, while Le Lido and the Moulin Rouge cabaret are not to be forgotten.

The Louvre, possibly best known for housing the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo statue, is the most famous of the city’s museums, but do keep in mind that there are numerous others, such as the Picasso and Rodin Museums that take visitors on a journey through time to the Museum du quai Branly, built in 2006, that houses art from Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas. Undoubtedly, visitors feel truly ‘enriched’ by their visit to this very famous destination, Paris.
