The Camargue is the region of 930 sq.km. located south of Arles, France, bordered between the Mediterranean Sea and the Great Rhône and Little Rhône of the Rhône delta. Officially established as a regional park and nature reserve in 1970, the Parc Naturel Régional de Camargue covers some of the wildest and most protected in all of Europe. A roadside museum provides background on flora, fauna, and the history of the area.
