Cruises visiting Turku & all Turku cruises for  2020

View Turku 2020 cruises for 1 ships listing 1 cruises from Turku with today's best deals!

Turku is a city situated on the SW coast of Finland at the mouth of the Aura River. A vibrant modern city renowned for its many events, it still meets all the requirements - the castle, the market square, the castle and the cathedral - for being a medieval European town. You may experience one of the thousands of events held annually in Turku, but you are sure to thoroughly appreciate the variety of shopping experiences on offer, from workshops and boutiques of young designers to Finland’s newest shopping mall, Skanssi. There are also a number of great beaches and swimming locales.

There are numerous cultural museums, such as the Turku Art Museum, the Wäinö Aaltonen Museum of Art, the Luostarinmäki handicrafts museum and the Sibelius museum - specialising in music - housed at the Akademi University. In addition the historical Aboa Vetus museum (where children can mint their very own coins), built in the late 1990s over the 14th century archaeological site, and the Turku Castle that has been a functional historical museum since 1881, are all most interesting and informative. The castle also hosts a number of important events annually, from medieval reenactments to modern pop and rock concerts.

Situated at the mouth of the Aura River, with rugged hills and valleys spread all around it, Turku is the perfect vacation spot for those who enjoy the outdoors. There are a number of great beaches and swimming locales, plenty of hiking and cycling routes, and some lovely nature reserves to explore. The region is particularly popular with fishermen, boaters and canoeists, who enjoy the ever changing seascapes around the archipelago, and there are many boats for charter. Interestingly, since 2009, STX Europe's Turku shipyard has delivered the world's largest cruise vessels to the line Royal Caribbean International.
