Beilstein is a small village on the east bank of the Mosel River in the district of Cochem-Zell, western Germany. It is located just 10 kms along the river south of Cochen at the foot of a hill overlooked by a feudal castle. The town is surrounded by vineyards. It is often called The Sleeping Beauty of the Moselle, the place where time stood still without bridges or roads - just the river connecting it to the outside world.
