Cruises from Maria La Gorda
Maria La Gorda (‘Fat Mary’, the legendary hostess to pirates of old) is a small village lying on Bahia de Corrientes at the very western end of Cuba. María la Gorda is on the Guanahacabibes Peninsula, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The entire settlement consists of a hotel, diving centre, small shop, sandy beach, two restaurants, and a jetty for visiting small craft, tour operators, and fishers. While a road connects to the rest of Cuba, visitors come for diving and snorkelling.
