This was our first cruise, and I was concerned about motion sickness. I was advised to book an inside cabin in the middle. We did and I am so grateful for that advise as at no time did we feel the movement at all, others did get seasick, but we were fine, everything we were told was spot on. So in future we will have no problem booking with you."

Guangzhou (formerly Canton), 70 km from the port of Nansha, is the capital and a sub-provincial city of Guangdong Province in the southern part of the People's Republic of China. It is an inland port on the Pearl River, navigable to the South China Sea, and is located about 120 km NNW of Hong Kong. It was a major terminus of the Maritime Silk Road, and is today a major port, “China’s Southern Gateway”, “City of Flowers”, and one of China’s five principal cities. Guangzhou is the economic centre of the Pearl River Delta and at the heart of one of mainland China's leading commercial and manufacturing regions.

In recent years the megalopolis of Guangzhou and Pearl River Delta, the largest urban region in the world (120 million), has been the centre of massive immigration and emigration (hence a large Chinese diaspora); it is the world's workshop for products including electronics, toys, garments, textiles, plastic products, and other goods. Guangzhou is best known for its annual Canton Fair, the oldest and largest trade fair in China, making it the best commercial city on the Chinese mainland. Guangzhouo is also known for its regional cuisine, sculptures in jade and wood, colourful porcelain ware, embroidery, and Zhujiand beer. Locals speak Cantonese, immigrants speak Mandarin.

Guangzhou's eight most famous tourist attractions are: the supertall Towers the New Town, the Pearl River from Bai'etan to Pazhou, the Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area, Yuexiu Hill and Park, the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall and its folk art museum, Liwan Lake, Science City, and Nansha Wetlands Park. The river is noted for the Chinese white dolphins that inhabit the area. Entering the mouth of Pearl River, ships pass beneath a 500 kV-power line, suspended from the three 240m Pylons of Pearl River Crossing.
