I have already recommended Clean Cruising to friends and relatives. It is up to them now. Tammi has been great and I look forward to arranging more cruises with her. All staff that I have spoken to at Clean Cruising have been most helpful."

Caleta Tortel is a coastal village in Chile. It is the administrative centre of the commune of Tortel and is located between the mouth of the Baker River - the largest river in Chile - and a small bay in the Baker Channel. The surrounding geography is rugged, formed by a number of islands, fjords, channels and estuaries. The amazing Glacier Jorge Montt is located nearby, in the Bernardo O'Higgins National Park. The entire boat trip to the glacier Montt is a lovely experience, as one cruises on the fjords in this remote and isolated part of the world, undisturbed by humans.

The closer you get to the glacier, the more ice chunks - fallen off the glacier - are seen floating on the water. There is also an exceptional trip to the mountain side of The Montt where it is possible to observe beautiful landscapes and a wild unpolluted territory. The village itself is of great interest. It consists mainly of stilt houses, typical of Chilean architecture, built along the coast for several kilometers. There are no conventional streets - instead there are wooden walkways. The wooden walkways give the village its distinctive look and its unique culture.

Then there’s a Chilean commune located at the outflow of Baker and Pascua River to the Pacific Ocean between the Northern and Southern Patagonian Ice Field. The commune is administered by the municipality in Caleta Tortel, the principal settlement. Also of interest to many is the Bernardo O'Higgins National Park that covers an area of 35,259 sq.km., and is the largest of the protected areas in Chile.
