View Nanaimo 2019-2020 cruises for 4 ships listing 7 cruises from Nanaimo with today's best deals!

Nanaimo, Vancouver Island's second largest city located on Vancouver Island's sheltered eastern coast, is one of the most naturally protected harbours in the NW Pacific. Day trips all over Vancouver Island are also possible from Nanaimo, thanks to the city's convenient central location. The area features wonderful tourist-friendly attractions such as the Nanaimo Museum, the charming Old City Quarter shopping district, the Bastion, and other historic sites. One of the most popular regions in Canada, visitors are captivated by the oceans, mountains, clean air, and trails that allow hikers to explore all that nature has to offer.

For deep water enthusiasts, the ocean floor just outside Nanaimo Harbour is home to three artificial diving reefs made from sunken ships, including the Canadian Supply Ship HMCS Cape Breton that is the largest upright man-made diving reef in the world. Also on offer are the thriving culinary and organic food offerings, the local heritage, as well as the best commercial downtown street in Canada. Other activities include fishing charters and kayaking adventures. There are also several great ocean swimming and snorkelling spots along the city's waterfront. For the more adventurous types, there are activities such as bungy jumping and zip-lining.

The Dinghy Dock Pub & Restaurant has been an attraction in Nanaimo since 1989. The expansive views, relaxed atmosphere and great pub fare make it a popular destination year round. It is the only registered floating pub in Canada, making the experience of visiting a unique one. They are moored off Protection Island and it's only a short 10 minute boat ride from downtown Nanaimo harbour. In the summer kids can fish in the floor while they wait for their food. Families love the fantastic marine decor and watching the float planes take off and land.
