We found that it was 100% better to be booked through an agent like Clean Cruising as opposed to booking our own cruise like the first time we cruised. I recommended your service to all people we met on board and will continue to do so. We were very happy with the service we received from Clean Cruising and particularly the upkeep of communication from start to finish."

Klemtu (“Impassable” in Coast Tsimshian) is a community on Swindle Island in the coastal fjords of British Columbia, Canada. Klemtu is the home to about 500 members of the Kitasoo tribe of Tsimshians, and situated in Klemtu Indian Reserve No.1. It lies 40km up the fjord from the British Columbia portion of the Inside Passage shipping route. The villagers rarely travel inland and go everywhere by boat, hunting and trapping on the beaches. The area is lush with excellent opportunities to view wildlife, and on the water for both kayaking and fishing.

Klemtu is within the 32,000 Great Bear Rainforest, recognised from February 2016. The temperate rainforest is 85% protected from old forest logging, and is home to cougars, wolves, salmon, grizzly bears, and the Kermode (Spirit) bear, a subspecies of the black bear, in which one in ten cubs displays a recessive white coloured coat. Waters teem with an abundance of marine life, including whales, orcas, sea otters, dolphins and sea lions.

Visitors will not only enjoy the beauty and serenity of oceanside surroundings, but also learn about the rich culture of the Kitasoo/ Xaixais First Nation peoples from local guides. Villagers take an active part in the protection and management of a vast protected wilderness area. Today tourism, aquaculture and forestry have added to the economy. On the shoreline see The Big House. Interestingly, tales of Bigfoot – Sasquatch – linger on, variously attributed to folklore, misidentification (black bear?), or hoaxes.
