Cruises visiting Portland & all Portland cruises for  2020

View Portland 2020 cruises for 2 ships listing 4 cruises from Portland with today's best deals!

The thriving city of Portland is steeped in history, and as Victoria's birthplace it also boasts the State's oldest European settlement. With a population of approximately 10,000, the city is based around the picturesque Portland Bay, which features one of the deepest international ports in southern Australia. Visit the Maritime Discovery Centre for an insight into Portland's long seafaring history, and get back to nature in this thriving city by the sea. Wander streets and dine on great pub fare while overlooking the harbour. Then head out into the blue to catch the perfect wave or a tuna or two.

Take the Portland self-guided Historical Buildings Walk for a closer look at the city's hundreds of heritage buildings. Portland became Victoria's first permanent European settlement in 1834 and boasts more than 200 buildings of historic significance. Take a ride on the foreshore cable tram, spot seals at Cape Bridgewater, watch blue whales off Cape Nelson, or traverse the Great South West Walk. Portland is an angler's paradise. From a boat or the beach, there's an extensive range of fish to be hooked, including King George whiting, flathead, snapper, tuna and mulloway.

Portland is the only international port that can claim such close proximity to Australia’s ocean-side Twelve Apostles, as well as the acclaimed Coonawarra wine region to the west, and the stunning Grampians National Park to the north. Other attractions within a 2-hour drive include: the Portland Powerhouse Motor and Car Museum that features veteran, vintage and classic cars, motorcycles, a Penny Farthing bicycle; the Portland Maritime Discovery Centre where you can step inside the rib cage of our Sperm Whale skeleton; and check out the waves at Bells Beach, one of Australia's famous surfing beaches and home to the Rip Curl Pro held every Easter.
