Cruises from Koolan Island
Koolan Island, with its breathtaking scenery, is a remote island located just off the Kimberley coast of Western Australia. It is 260 km NE of Broome in the Buccaneer Archipelago, a region rich in iron ore deposits. Since 1963 large quantities have been open-pit mined, and at its peak Koolan Island had a population of about 1,000. Facilities included a school, police station, recreation facilities and shops.
