P&O Australian Fleet

P&O Ships
A descendant of the world's first passenger line, British-owned P&O Cruises Australia operates three cruise ships out of Australian and New Zealand ports. Their presence is the backbone of a fast-growing interest in cruising in Australia. All three vessels have come from overseas and recently been extensively refurbished and staffed by friendly international crews. The line offers budget value, and has won plaudits for its family-friendly atmosphere.

Highlights of its 2013 program will include Mother's Day and Christmas in July voyages, and a series of four-night cruises. Onboard activities run day and night, too extensive to list: it's happening all the time. Night-time shows and shore excursions are all available. Food choices include formal dining rooms, Lido buffets and alternative dining steakhouses (for an added fee).

Pacific Dawn
Pacific Dawn, recently underwent another large refurbishment, to see pictures please click here and has a distinctive all-white curved forwards superstructure inspired by the dolphin. Enjoy a top-class performance in the two-story Show Lounge. The spacious domed entertainment centre features great live entertainment, comedy nights and jazz events. The crew, service, food and entertainment receive strong reviews from guests.

The 50 suites and mini-suites have been upgraded with new furnishings, carpets and artwork. Staterooms come in five categories – Suites, Mini-Suites, Outside with balcony, Outside and Inside. Many cabins have a third or even a fourth bed available. All cabins are spacious, with walk-in robes, and twin beds mostly convertible to queen size. Facilities include refrigerator, kettle, personal safe, bathrobes and toiletries, and an interactive video system. Interconnecting cabins for families and groups allow quad-quad, twin-quad and twin-twin bedding.

Dining-wise, there are four eateries onboard Pacific Dawn. Dining is where and when you like: 'Your Choice Dining" at the main à la carte restaurant or main buffet dining room. There are two alternative (pay extra) restaurants. The line has recruited its first ever celebrity chef, Luke Mangan, who has added his touches to the menu in the Salt Grill restaurant, a steak and seafood venue. La Luna is a casual restaurant serving Asian-style cuisine.

Pacific Pearl
Pacific Pearl arrived from the UK for her latest refurbishment in late 2010. In the growing Australian market the standard of cuisine, restaurants, public spaces and leisure activities maintains its excellence, in keeping with her sister ships Pacific Jewel and Pacific Dawn. She is ideally suited to young couples, singles of all ages and families, with plenty of open deck space, two large pools, wading pool, and extensive child and teenager facilities including indoor/outdoor play areas located aft. Pacific Pearl features a distinctive forward domed and curved observation lounge offering spectacular views. The crew, service, food and entertainment receive strong reviews from guests.

Pacific Jewel
Pacific Jewel, extensively refurbished late 2009, has a distinctive all-white curved forwards superstructure inspired by the dolphin. Enjoy a top-class performance in the two-story Marquee Theatre. The spacious domed entertainment centre features great live entertainment, comedy nights and jazz events.

Pacific Jewel's late 2012 refurbishment adds a Natural Ice-cream Parlour, for everyone's liking (and licking). A café on the Lido Deck serve casual meals and grills, and at night less formal dining with pasta, steaks, salads and desserts. Themed bars and lounges are aplenty. This ship has its own chocolate café on board. The cafe serves up chocolate ravioli, warm chocolate fondant, Belgium waffles and a range of cookies and chocolate cake.

The top sun deck is now an adults-only Oasis spa area complete with wicker beds, lounges, ottomans and a new spa. Under the sun on the upper decks is the ocean-view Aqua Health, Spa and Fitness centre that spans two decks. It features 11 ocean view treatment rooms, a salon, fitness centre and thermal suite. The Children's Centres that cater for ages 3 to 10 years is situated at the rear of the top deck. HQ and HQ+ are hangouts for 11 to 17 year olds.

If you would like to experience a P&O Ship call us on 1800 121 187.
