Roseau, a small, compact and most important urban settlement, is the capital and largest city of the island of Dominica, in the Caribbean. Dominica has been nicknamed the ‘Nature Isle of the Caribbean’ for its unspoiled natural beauty. Interestingly, it is built on the site of the ancient Kalinago Indian village of Sairi. San Juan, the capital and most populous city of Puerto Rico, is the oldest city on US territory. It is the Caribbean commercial hub, best known for its beautifully restored historic district of Old San Juan. Saint Croix is the largest of the US Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. It was spared significant damage from Hurricane Irma (Sep 2017). Spain, Great Britain, the Netherlands, France, the Knights of Malta, Denmark and the United States all played a role in its past, and brought their influence to this small island. Bimini is the westernmost part of the Bahamas, two islands and many cays (population 2000). North Bimini is about 11km long and 200m wide, with settlements Alice Town and Bailey Town, and shops, restaurants and bars.
