Qikiqtarjuaq (‘Qik’ for short), formerly known as Broughton Island, is a Nunavut community (population around 520) on the island of the same name, in the Canadian territory of Nunavut. Isabella Bay, within the Niginganiq National Wildlife Area, is situated on the NE coast of Baffin Island, in Canada’s territory of Nunavut. The Bay lies about 100 km north of the Arctic Circle, and 470 km to the east, across David Strait and Baffin Bay, lies the coast of Greenland. This is the second most northerly town in the world. Ilulissat (the Kalaallisut word for "Icebergs"), the third largest settlement in Greenland, is located on its west coast 200 km north of the Arctic Circle. It is a most popular tourist destination in Greenland on account of its proximity to the picturesque Ilulissat Ice fjord 3km to the south, named a World Heritage Site in 2004.
