Eilat is Israel's southernmost city, a busy port as well as a popular resort, located at the northern tip of the Red Sea in the Gulf of Eilat/Aqaba. The Egyptian village of Taba is 9km to the south, the Jordanian port city of Aqaba 5km to the east, and Saudi Arabia is visible 22km to the south across the gulf. Port Safaga is a town in Egypt on the coast of the Red Sea, in what is now known as the Red Sea Riviera.
