Carnival Legend began service in 2001, and was most recently refitted in 2018. At 85,942 GT she carries 2,124 passengers, yet gives the feel of not being particularly crowded.

The ship features three alternative restaurants, onboard wedding chapel, an 80 percent ratio of outside cabins, and creative touches such as museum-quality artwork and “designer” martinis. This “Fun Ship” has a nine-deck-high atrium, unique Cooking Demonstration (lunch, & dinner), duty-free shopping mall, video arcade, and 180 square metre children’s play area. Carnival Legend has received top marks from past guests for the quality of its entertainment and facilities for families and children. Passengers are a broad cross-section of all ages.

    Dining on the Carnival Legend

    The ship has a single two-deck dining room – Truffles Restaurant – with a choice of fixed-time dining at two seating times, or flexible “Your Time Dining”. Dining assignments can be booked before the cruise. Allow for one or two nights “Dress Elegant”. Menus change daily and service is excellent. Read more

    Breakfast and lunch are open seating. The Lido Restaurant is an extensive casual eatery, with sections that include small buffet counters, salad counters, a dessert counter, a 24-hour pizzeria, ice cream/frozen yoghurt station, and deli. The Nouveau Restaurant (reservations only, for an additional cover charge), for steak and seafood with your selected wine, is a superb fine-dining experience not to be missed. There is a poolside grill that offers burgers, hot dogs and the like. The Chef’s Table (for 12, reserved) takes you on a galley tour, then fine cuisine (reservations only, for an additional cover charge). Bonsai Sushi offers salmon, shrimp and assorted rolls (free of charge), and sake (extra charge) in the bar. The ship offers 24-hour room service, ranging from basic continental-style breakfast fare to a variety of sandwiches and desserts.

    Hot coffee is available at drinks stations throughout at no cost, but the offerings at the specialty coffee and patisserie European-Style Café are tempting. Drinks are available at 16 bars. Night is the time for late buffet snacks and R-rated comedy. Billie’s Piano Bar and Medusa’s Lair Dance Club with bar have live music in the evening.

    There is something for everyone. New to the Australian market will be Playlist Productions, with special effects in theatres and bars ship-wide. Follies is the main show lounge spanning three decks presents large production shows and cabaret acts backed by a live show band. There’s an alternative show lounge, Firebird Lounge, on the lowest deck.

    Daytime activities include the customary art auctions, karaoke, "game show mania," ballroom dancing, comedians, bingo, library and Internet café. Adults have the large action-packed Club Merlin Casino. For adults, an open-air deck called Serenity will have a child-free pool, spas, sun lounges and a bar.     Kids aged 2-5 can join the Penguin Colony where they can engage in musical icebergs and ocean bingo. The Stingrays are for kids aged 6-8 they enjoy pirate games nights, salt art and can even design their own aquarium. The sharks offer kids aged 9-11 a chance to play Marine Life Trivia, create a giant ocean mural and get the heart pumping with volleyball and soccer.     Circle C allows teens from 12-14 to chill out and make new friends, with dance parties, games and outdoor movies. Club O2 is for the 15-17-year-olds to hang out, play games, sing karaoke and just have fun with like-minded teens and escape the parents for a few hours.

  • Welcome on board Carnival Legend and legends never boast. The ship has fabulous dining, entertainment and facilities. And we have a legendary staff. It cannot be called boasting if it is true, right?

  • Travel down Carnival Legend’s Green Thunder Waterslide. Splash around in ship’s Camelot and Avalon pools. The ship offers so much fun under the big bright sun, boredom does not stand a chance. And he knows that.

  • Only survival is not enough for someone who is a legend. From Sushi to steak to burgers which are so big that they require two hands. The more food we gobble down, the stronger we become.

  • In the mood for an exclusive ThirstyFrog Red beer? (The ship brewed it.) Or just relax and gulp down a rum cocktail and enjoy RedFrog Pub’s live music. Life as Carnival Legend – The ship thinks it is something you can get used to.

Cabins

The 24 cabin categories include interior staterooms, ocean view rooms, ocean rooms with French doors (but no balcony), ocean rooms with private balcony, and two grades of suites. Eighty percent of the cabins are outside; 80 percent of those staterooms have private balconies. Each cabin has a gift amenity basket in its bathroom. All staterooms include flat-screen television, safe, mini-bar, beach towels, hair dryer, bathrobes to wear during your cruise, and Carnival Comfort Bed with plush mattresses, good quality duvets, linens and pillows. Standard cabins are a good size.

Most with twin beds can be converted to king-size bed. Good design and soft lighting add to a feeling of spaciousness in interior staterooms. The Junior and Vista Suites have a large lounge and sleeping areas, large bathroom with twin wash basins, bidet, and whirlpool bathtub. The best suites and cabins are those on the aft-facing decks. Suites qualify for priority check-in at port. Some cabins can accommodate a third and fourth person, and most cabin categories are fitted with inter-connecting doors to suit families. There are no single cabins, and 16 wheelchair-accessible cabins. A room service menu is available 24-hours, for a small charge.)
