Arcadia Cruises

4.2
(from 16 verified customers)

The mid-sized ship Arcadia entered service in 2005 and was last refitted in 2018. At 82,972 GT she carries 2094 passengers. This child-free vessel (no under-18's) is best suited to singles and couples, with entertainment geared to British tastes, in an informal setting and with plenty of open-plan public rooms. You’ll never feel crowded. Arcadia scores highly on cleanliness and smooth running by her sociable British officers and multinational crew members. Outdoor facilities include a wrap-around promenade deck with plenty of sun lounges, and glass-covered pool on the Lido Deck. Arcadia has a casino, and offers karaoke sessions, dance lessons, and educational lectures. Entertainment is in the three-tiered Palladium Theatre, and various cabaret, lounge and pub alternatives. Note that the Captain can marry couples while at sea. The majority of passengers are older British and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. One can dress for the fashion stakes, or just be reasonably smart. Currency is the British pound

Cabins

There are nine types of stateroom and 16 price grades. Seventy percent of the cabins have a balcony. Staterooms have twin beds (or king-sized bed), adjustable AC, safe, vanity writing desk with mirror, good storage areas, wide-screen TV (with major news channels, sports and movies), telephone, mini-fridge, tea/coffee-making facilities, daily steward service, and hair dryer. Inside staterooms have a picture mirror. Outsides have a picture window or porthole. Cabins with private balconies have sliding doors that open to a patio set with two recliner chairs and a small table.

Some balcony cabins have a bath with shower. The Deluxe Balcony Staterooms are considerably larger with full-height glass doors. Allow for service and additional charges for, say, room-service dining, depending on the five types of accommodation. Mini-suites are very spacious, with shower over a bathtub, DVD player, mini-stereo, coffee machine, ironing facilities, and lounge area with sofa. Special touches include bathrobe and slippers, ironing board, fruit basket, flowers, champagne and chocolates on arrival, and daily canapes. Suites are simply more spacious again, and include butler service. Owner’s and Master Suites are magnificent, with foyer, a small guest bathroom, and larger entertaining areas and balconies. Some cabins have 3 or 4 berths, inter-connecting doors for families, three cabins are wheel-chair accessible, and the seven single cabin have wide single beds.)
