Life aboard Spectrum of the Seas
The staterooms of Spectrum are nine percent larger than Oasis Class ships in the company's fleet. Of the 2123 staterooms, 1,570 are balcony staterooms, 147 are outside staterooms and 373 are “virtual balcony” staterooms (interior rooms with near floor-to-ceiling (1.3m) HD screen with real-time views of the ocean and destinations). Of the overall staterooms, 23 are wheelchair accessible with excellent facilities, 16 are family-connected, 16 are studio interior staterooms, and 12 are balcony studio staterooms. These staterooms are based on a new modular design, with a “more residential atmosphere”, and all the gadgetry you‘d wish for, including USB ports.

Golden and Silver suite accommodations are in a private forward enclave over four decks. Guests have special keycard access, private elevator, dedicated restaurant and lounge, and access to The Balcony for sunbathing and relaxing. Thirteen Interior View Studios are for single occupancy with no single supplement, yet come with full size bed and bathroom, can sleep up to two, and on your flat-screen TV view real-time outside views. Ocean View Staterooms come with two twin beds and panoramic window. There are 14 suite categories, all with balconies, that include Spa (with hot tub), Loft (two decks overlooking the aft of the ship), and Owner’s, and come variously with large entertainment areas, fabulous views, two bathrooms and dining areas. The Ultimate Family Suite (for 11) has amazing features. Choose your level of luxury for your family size. In all categories of staterooms there are some cabins that are inter-connecting to accommodate families.

Cigarette, cigar, e-cigarette and pipe smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas.

Food and Dining
Spectrum’s new concept of Dynamic Dining eliminates set dining times or assigned seating, no main dining rooms and no formal night. There are 18 restaurants including the specialty venues, none with more than 500 diners. Complimentary options include formal dining in the main 3-level dining room, The Café @ Two70 with gourmet casual dining, SeaPlex Dog House, Italian cuisine Sorrento, and Windjammers Marketplace for buffet and bakery.

For an extra charge there are nine options that include: the debut franchise Jamie’s Italian eatery, Sichuan Red, Chops Grille, The Hotpot, Wonderland Dadong, Izumi Japanese for sushi, the Chef’s Table (seats just 14), and the Noodle Shop on the lido deck. In the Royal Esplanade be refreshed at the Leaf & Bean tea room, and the Patisserie. Children have their own poolside venue at Splashaway Café. Special dietary needs can be catered for by giving advanced notice. Menus change daily throughout the cruise.

Entertainment
A Broadway-style production is presented in the three-deck Main Theatre. Very popular will be the Star Moment karaoke theatre. Enjoy live performances, DJs, theme party nights, comedy, jazz, and more. The Two70, seating 475, presents panoramic views of the ocean through glass walls three decks high. North Star (complimentary) carries 13 guests, one wheel-chair passenger, and an operator. SeaPlex is the largest indoor active space at sea. Experience a circus school with flying trapeze, basketball, bumper cars, roller skating, and in the evenings it becomes a disco nightclub. Sky diving is complimentary for 3 years and older. Alternatively, just stroll around the Royal Promenade and shop duty-free, or for a quiet time retire to the Library/Card Room or Internet Café.

On-shore excursions and explorations can be pre-booked or arranged on board. Choose from a range of workshops to bring out your creativity and expand your knowledge. The Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Centre is fully equipped and runs a variety of beauty services and fitness classes. Activities include use of the outdoor sports deck, complete with mini-golf course, golf simulators, boxing ring, whirlpools, and a full-sized sports court. The Solarium is exclusively for adults. The ship's Youth Zone is exclusively for kids and teens and offers Adventure Ocean youth programmes. There’s a waterslide and FlowRider surf simulator. And every RCI ship has a rock-climbing wall.
