Sandefjord is a city of Norway, at the head of the Sandesfjordsfjord. The 10 km fjord runs N-S, and enters on the south to the Skagerrak, the strait between the SE coast of Norway, the SW coast of Sweden, and the Jutland peninsula of Denmark. It connects the North Sea with Baltic Sea. Sandefjord is about 100 km south of Oslo, the capital of Norway. The city is known for its rich Viking history, and the prosperous whaling industry that made Sandefjord the richest city in Norway.
