Kumai is a small river settlement up the Kumai River on the SW coast of Kalimantan, the Indonesian portion of the third largest island of the world, also known as Borneo. It is part of the Tanjung Puting National Park, hot and steamy all year round. The Park is the gateway to visit the Orangutan Reserves, which enable you to see amazing animals, some of which have been raised in captivity, others wild. Watching their individual antics is most enjoyable.
